VIDEO: Swansea Loanee Bafetimbi Gomis Scores Superb Goal for Marseille as Future Remains Uncertain

Swansea City loanee Bafetimbi Gomis has been enjoying his time back in France with Marseille and this weekend, he scored one of his finest ever Ligue 1 goals, as reported by Wales Online.

The former Lyon striker was at his very best against Saint Etienne, collecting a ball in the box, controlling in mid-air twice before rifling a low volley past the helpless goalkeeper.

The Frenchman looks a man reborn for Marseille after his indifferent spell in the Premier League, scoring 17 goals in 27 games in Ligue 1.

With Swansea lingering in the relegation places following a 1-0 loss to Watford on Saturday, Gomis’ future at the club still remains uncertain, however, the 31-year-old is attracting high levels of interest, including China.

Paul Clement will have to make a decision on the striker, who is earning around £70k-a-week before he arrives back in the summer.

Ironically, the impressive goal comes just as Fernando Llorente’s form tails off after a bright start to his career in England.

The Spaniard was torn into by both Alan Shearer and Frank Lampard on Match of the Day for his poor work ethic on the weekend.

With Jordan Ayew also failing to impress since his move in January, Swans fans may be calling for Gomis to return to the lineup next season.

Goals have not been easy to come by for the Welsh side this season and without star man Gylfi Sigurdsson, they would probably be even closer to the foot of the table.

Gomis may not be the most consistent of strikers but at the moment, he would perhaps be the most viable option for the club next season.
