Swansea City put an abrupt stop to a six game stretch without a victory last Saturday, defeating Mark Hughes’ Stoke City 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium.
Paul Clement’s struggling Swans – who currently sit two points behind 17th placed Hull City in the Premier League table – travel to Old Trafford this coming Sunday and Clement, speaking to the media on Thursday,
“We did put it right (against Stoke) both in terms of the performance and the application which I thought was very good, particularly in the first half.
“We had that bit of luck with their penalty miss. But I think we were due it.”
With his squad raring themselves for a testing encounter against Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils, Clement then proceeded to convey his optimism, whilst remaining assured of his team’s abilities.
“I am very confident. Maybe I would not have been if we had not got that good result and also the good performance,” he claimed.
Swansea could also potentially see the return of a number of strong first team members to their ranks, with Leroy Fer, Jack Cork and Martin Olsson all making swift recoveries from their recent injury woes.
