?Jurgen Klopp is said to have added Ryan Bertrand to his shortlist of targets this summer, amidst rumours that Saints boss Claude Puel may be shown the door, ?via ThisIsAnfield.
Bertrand has been a firm figure in Puel’s starting eleven this season, which has earned him call-ups to the England national side. The Saints man has put in some stand-out performances this season, netting five goals and ten assists, he’s the ideal full-back for the Reds.
The former Chelsea man has had loan spells across the country, such as Oldham Athletic, Norwich City, Reading and Aston Villa but it now looks as though Bertrand has finally found his feet.
The current crop of Liverpool full-backs are a mixed bag to say the least. James Milner is the current fix to Anfield’s left back problem, but at the tender age of 31 it’s hard to imagine him as a long term fixture. Alberto Moreno has also failed to make an impression when selected, forcing Klopp to look for a replacement.
However, Bertrand would be the a great fit to Klopp’s side, he has the balance of both pace and power, perfect for any attacking left back. His goal-scoring side of the game is also a crucial trait, as not every defender in the Premier League can notch up goals from defence.

If the Liverpool boss does decide to add the 27-year-old to his squad, he may be able to permanently fix his left back problem, with Bertrand an ever developing talent.
