?A shock name has made it’s way on to Liverpool’s transfer wish list, as Stoke reportedly brace themselves for a bid from the Merseyside club.
According to the ?Stoke Sentinel, German manager Jurgen Klopp is keeping a close eye on developments at the bet365 stadium as he runs the rule over midfielder Ramadan Sobhi.
This has come after an increase in first team opportunities following a successful African Cup of Nations tournament, where he featured in six straight matches for finalist’s Egypt.
Following his return to Stoke, Sobhi has turned in a number of performances that have made Mark Hughes and his coaching staff give high praise regarding his telling contribution. With Klopp always on the look out for vibrant young additions to his squad at Anfield, sources say Sobhi’s name has come up at ‘boardroom level.’
Recent speculation has also linked the Reds with American midfielder Julian Brandt, currently plying his trade at German side Bayer Leverkusen, but that has cooled in recent times as he seeks guaranteed regular first-team action.
With Liverpool also being front-runners for his signature before he moved to Stoke from previous side Al Ahly, Klopp may get his man at the second time of asking if Sobhi impresses in the closing stages of the season.
