Saido Berahino has recently managed to have a consistent run of games at striker, displaying some intelligent runs in behind, but has ultimately failed to score. Midfielder Joe Allen remains the top scorer (joint with Marko Arnautovic) with just six goals.
This begs the question, how will Hughes, who is under growing pressure from sections of the fans, address this drought?
The solution could be very simple. Reintroduce former Barcelona man Bojan Krkic, who currently finds himself on loan at Bundesliga strugglers Mainz.
Bojan is just what Stoke are lacking, a creative attacker who possesses a top class touch, impeccable vision and a gifted football brain. He seems the perfect player to link with Berahino, as well as contributing his own share of goals.
Before getting injured in January 2015, Bojan looked revitalised, appearing to be finally realising his once heralded potential. He was terrorising defences, including in a 2-1 victory away at Tottenham Hotspur, in which the tricky Spaniard scored a goal that displayed the immense talent he possesses.
After recovering from his injury, Bojan failed to reclaim a regular place in the Potters side, finding himself regularly on the bench. At the end of a frustrating 2016, ?The Daily Mail reported that Bojan was looking for more game time and pushing for a move, resulting in a loan to Mainz.

Large sections of the Potters fans are desperate to see Bojan at the Bet365 stadium again, amid a season devoid of creativity and charm.
Arguably one of the greatest natural talents to pull on a red and white shirt for City in recent memory, needs to be reintroduced and given a consistent run in the team.
Ultimately it’s down to Hughes, whether to bring Bojan back into the fold and allow him to be the spark that reignites Stoke City next season, allowing them to push beyond just ninth place.
