Stoke City Star Peter Crouch Shows Gratitude to Club After Picking Up Two Awards at End of Season

?Stoke City forward Peter Crouch, during the end-of-season awards ceremony, thanked the club for the recognition of scoring his 100th Premier League goal earlier this year.

Crouch, speaking to Stoke City Player, via ?Stoke City FC, expressed his gratitude to the club and his satisfaction to be receiving such a prestigious award.

He picked up his 100th Premier League goal award back in February at the 1-1 draw against Everton. The England forward, after netting two goals since and taking his tally to nine for the season, also won the clubs golden boot award.

Crouch said: “The Club has been very kind to me. I received an award on the pitch recently and then picked up another one tonight so I’m very pleased.

“I’m really pleased to have scored 100 Premier League goals in my career to be recognised for it by the Club, and to pick up the Top Goalscorer award as well tonight which it wasn’t something I had my eye on this year but am delighted to have claimed it.”

He added: “It’s certainly nice to be part of the ‘100 Club’ and something I was looking to do. I’m now amongst some of the players I was trying to emulate as a kid which is a very proud moment for me.

“Obviously I wouldn’t have wanted to have scored my 100th Premier League goal anywhere else than here.”

Despite a successful season at the Bet365 Stadium, the 6’7″ striker has his sights set on a domestic cup and also a higher finish in the Premier League next season.

He said: “I’ve still got many more things I want to achieve. I want to move higher up the Premier League goal scoring list as well as here at Stoke City. I feel as though we can win something and the next goal is to win an FA Cup or League Cup and finish as high up the league as we possibly can.”
