Mark Hughes Admits to Fitness Concerns for Stoke City Star Ahead of Final Premier League Fixture

?Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has growing worries over the fitness of winger Marko Arnautovic ahead of the final Premier League fixture this weekend.

Stoke City travel to Saint Mary’s to take on Southampton in the hope that they finish a successful season with a victory. Stoke manager Mark Hughes has admitted that the Austrian is struggling with an elbow injury after a tough challenge from Rob Holding against Arsenal last week, according to ?Stoke City FC.

Hughes said: “Marko is obviously our biggest concern for the game at the moment. There is still another couple of session to go before the game, so hopefully we get through them with a clean bill of health. Marko is in quite a bit of pain still, so we are going to have to give him as much time as possible and see how he is closer to the time.”

Hughes claims to have almost a full team of fit players ready to take to the field and explained that the Arnautovic injury isn’t too much cause for concern at this point with players ready to take his place.

He added: “It may well be on that goes down to the wire, but him aside, at the moment, we have a largely fully fit group to choose from.”

The Potters have players on the bench eager to make a start for the side; top goalscorer Peter Crouch and newly signed Saido Berahino will be hoping to get the nod if Arnautovic isn’t match ready. Both strikers made appearances recently, coming off the bench last weekend.
