?Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has expressed his belief that there is more improvement to come from his players after they achieved the club’s highest ever finish.
Sunday’s 1-1 draw against last season’s title winners Leicester at the King Power Stadium left the Cherries in 9th and an impressive top half position.
And Howe, who guided Bournemouth into the top flight and last season finished 16th, praised his team and stressed that there is still more to come.
“A top-half finish wasn’t something that was on our list but we’ve done it,” he said – via the Mirror.
“It’s full justification to the players for what they have achieved and how they’ve improved. Right now I want to enjoy this season. I feel there’s a lot more improvement from this group to come. What that is and how that comes out we’ll wait and see.
“It’s a long summer for me as we think about how to improve the team and individuals – the right recruitment is obviously important.
“But we’ve become more streetwise in the Premier League. Last year we lost games we never should have but it stood us in good stead for this season.
“The players have grown with more exposure to the league.”
Bournemouth finished level on points with south coast rivals Southampton, who edged them to eighth place by virtue of a better goal difference.
