Claude Puel’s Southampton side have had a poor season compared to previous campaigns in recent years, with a record of 12 wins and 16 losses in this year’s Premier League as well as a goal difference of minus seven.
The Frenchman is due to have a meeting next week with the Southampton board to decide his future with the Saints.
It has been reported that Puel has already met with ASSE representatives in recent days, despite the uncertainty that the appointment will happen should he get the sack at Southampton.
Former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has also been reportedly courted by Les Verts.
It would be a great appointment indeed considering he is a Premier League winning manager; however it seems that fellow French side OGC Nice is where the Italian’s next destination is if current coach Lucien Favre goes to replace Thomas Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund.
