'We Will Work Hard to Start Well': Marco Silva's Reason Behind Joining Watford as Head Coach

?Former Hull City boss Marco Silva has joined Watford FC on a two-year deal as their new manager.

In an interview with Watford’s official website, the Portuguese head coach made known of his admiration and appreciation for the club’s ambition after meeting with the board and owner Gino Pozzo.

He is now looking to make big improvements for the Hornets after their 17th place finish in this season’s Premier League campaign.

Silva Said: “The club want to improve for the next seasons and this is what I try to fight for in my career as well – to always improve, to do a good job and to ensure a good connection between the manager and the club.”

With coaching spells at Hull, Olympiacos and Sporting CP, Silva looks forward to starting afresh at Watford; further stating: “I’m excited. It’s a good challenge and I’m really happy.”

His short spell at Hull City since January 2017 saw the Tigers with six wins and nine losses as the Tigers just fell short in their bid for Premier League safety.

The 39-year-old’s main focus for next season is to deliver quality football for the fans at Vicarage Road and make significant progress compared to this season’s 11 wins and 20 losses.

“We want to play good football so that our fans feel well when they come to see our team play,

“We’ll work hard every day to prepare for the matches and to do our best in every game,” he said.

Marco Silva is keen in improving the team’s performances with the likes of Troy Deeney and Étienne Capoue in the squad, who are Watford’s top two scorers this season with 10 and 7 goals.

“We will work hard to start well in the Premier League. Everybody knows it’s a hard competition but we come with confidence to improve every day and this is most important for me.”

Whether this combined confidence and ambition see Watford improve their performances next season, only time will tell..
