Arsenal Star Alexis Sanchez Has Barcelona Property Seized by Authorities After Tax Avoidance Claims

?Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has had his property in Barcelona seized by the authorities due to tax problems.

The Chilean has fully adapted to life in north London it seems after starting the new season in blistering form with the Gunners. However it looks like all is not well back in his former home, with tax evasion allegations refusing to leave the player alone.

And according to Spanish news outlet ?Mundo Deportivo, the former Catalan striker has now had his house repossessed by the government following fresh claims from his time at the Nou Camp.

His home has reportedly been embargoed for a total of 3.7 million euros to tax liabilities for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013 after avoiding paying tax on image rights during this period by ‘simulating’ the transfer of his rights to an offshore shell company in Malta called ‘Numidia’.

However, the Chile international isn’t the first La Liga player past and present to be caught up in these irregularities.

Information pointing to leaks of tax evasion from Real Madrid stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Pepe have emerged, while Barcelona’s Javier Mascherano, Lionel Messi, and now Alexis, have been at the forefront of the controversial news surrounding the Spanish giants.

With rumours suggesting that Sanchez is looking for a move away from the Emirates after stalling on a new contract, it now appears unlikely that Sanchez will have a house to move back to should he return to Barcelona at the end of his contract in 2017.
